Puppy grooming
I cannot stress how important it is to get your puppy introduced to grooming early.
From 13 week’s so after last lot of injections, to then get them booked with an experienced groomer, this means handling, using the correct brushes , getting them use to new sounds , also nail trimming, hygiene areas bathing . This is a build up over I’d say a period of 3-4 sessions depending on the dog and breed. Before a big full on groom, puppies don’t have much attention span when so young but the more they get use to it the easier it becomes for the groomer and owner to help with their coat ,with such a diverse of x breeds around , cavapoos, cavachon, cockapoo, and Many more , all dogs go through coat change
And all dogs hair grows continually or sheds and when buying a puppy please do your research as when it comes to their coats and how they will be is not always what you think. I am now introducing new puppy school grooming with the support of my assistant of 3 years Megan , we will be offering 3 sessions built up in a 3-4 period to build your dogs confidence in grooming handling. Megan will be coming to your home and starting the process and when they have advanced puppy school grooming then they will be on there way to full groom’s and In the neaks&tidy system of regular grooming.
In these sessions we use treats and positive enforcement to train the dogs to stand and be confident when being groomed.
This will be a package we will offer to all new clients with young puppies.

There is a cap so your puppies can be from 13 weeks , but not over 5 months old to be in puppy school grooming as then this is classed as junior/ adult stages as this is when the coat can change from 6-7 months again depending on breed and coat.
Anything 6-7 months is a full groom as they have quite a lot of coat by then and this can be hard work depending on breed and coat again.
So please bare this in mind.
So when dogs have had no grooming by this stage this is when it can be difficult, as Groomer’s will handle dogs different from when your grooming then at home as we are trained professionals. And when working with sharp tools and brushes it can be dangerous if you dog hasn’t got any or some control when being groomed.
